The Proponent prepares a response to the submissions received from the Public and Government Agencies including from the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (SEWPaC) formerly (DEWHA) with regards to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC Act).
Future steps
The Coordinator General assesses the EIS, SEIS and submissions received, and prepares a report either in support or recommending refusal of the Project. If supported the Coordinator General’s report is then sent to SEWPaC for determination against the EPBC Act.
CG’s report is forwarded to SEWPaC and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council (CCRC).
SEWPaC makes a determination on the application under the EPBC Act.
The Cassowary Coast Regional Council determines the application for issue of a Development Application (DA).
The Proponent applies for a permit to upgrade Ella Bay Road from the Wet Tropics Management Authority (WTMA) for those parts of the road that are located within the World Heritage Area.
