The Federal Minister for the Environment, The Honorable Tony Burke approved the Ella Bay Residential and Tourism Development on the 11th Devember 2012.

The Queensland Coordinator General approved the Ella Bay Integrated Resort on the 8th Nov 2012 and submitted the report to the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (SEWPaC) for assessment against the EPBC Act.
